Meet the team…

Our mighty

.7 acre urban farm

Our story began with a 9 months-pregnant version of Christina waddling the length of our yard, remarking “wow, we could put a pool or something back here!”

Fast forward through the years acquiring chickens, growing veggies, canning too much fruit and sneakily adding more and more flowers to the garden “for the pollinators.”

One fateful morning the husband said “I think you had better make a cutting row” so you can make bouquets all the time. Famous. Last. Words.

Christina and Catherine were starting to apply their pension for creativity towards flower jobs- specifically weddings for friends. And all the while, the “pollinator flowers” grew, reseeded, and even gained some new friends along the way…

We even recruited one of our favorite Brides, Meegan, to come and help channel our ADHD brains into meaningful business decisions! (Seriously Meegan, you’re a lifesaver!)

In our 4 years, we have done weddings, memorials, events, installations for churches, and hosted countless groups for flower cutting and bouquet making.

But our very favorite thing to do is still to watch the flowers grow, tend them, and then share the abundance of the garden with our community, friends, and their loved ones.

4 years later, we have almost half an acre filled with flowers, and the jars that used to hold jam are now full of blooms.

Our values…

We’re pretty sentimental about flowers. We see them as a physical expression of grace. When you view something as a gift, you’re inclined to take care of it better.
  • We’re Beyond Organic: While many growers find loopholes to meet standards, we are passionate about finding numerous ways to be regenerative and build a garden that helps our ecosystem, not exploits it. We spray compost tea made from our own worm castings instead of pesticides and fungicides. We companion plant, and fill our garden with plants to attract ladybugs and other beneficial insects. We sheet mulch, pull weeds by hand, and then pull them again when they come back. No Roundup touches our soil! Additionally, we are passionate about adding California natives into the garden for our local wildlife (Catherine’s specialty).

  • We  Pursue Reckless Generosity: In our hearts, we love the gift of flowers and we want so badly to make them accessible to as many people as possible. Extra blooms go into jars on the sidewalk to cheer people up in the neighborhood. We offer discounts for blooms sent to cheer up the sick, poor, or grieving. Our time spent with the Growing Kindness Project, led to the notion that there is always something to share, and our customers can feel good that their purchases increase our ability to share even more.

  • We Delight in Community: One of the sweetest aspects of this business is getting to see ways people love each other. One client buys a bouquet each year for a widow’s anniversary, another sends bouquets regularly from another state to those she loves here. We get to visit the sick, celebrate the new baby, and even guide the frazzled partner into finding the right blooms for those special occasions!
